Diane's Christmas Trees

Diane brought me several projects for me to quilt up for her. The first couple are Christmas tree themed.

Both quilts are pieced with a few elements of machine embroidery. They also have fleece as backing, and no batting in between.

Lots of swirls and circles.

I love how each tree is different.

'tis the season is machine embroidered, as well as a few snowflakes in the trees.

A peek at the green soft backing.

This pink and green version is super cute with Santa blending into the line-up.

I outlined Santa and quilted a little bit inside his beard and hat trim.

Lots of fun curls, holly leaves, and circles.

The backing was a pale pink fleece, believe it or not.

Katie's Hand Appliqued Circle Lattice

Katie hand stitched this appliqued whole cloth wallhanging. This pattern is called Circle Lattice by Carolyn Friedlander.

I have a pretend action shot to show with this one! I used my curved rulers to SID around all those coral colored curves. 

The coral solid fabric you see here is all one piece of fabric that Katie cut and hand appliqued onto her background fabric. !! wow.

All that time and effort put into this quilt, I didn't want to mess it up! I filled in the background areas with pebbles.

For the polka dot border, I went with some cross-hatching, attempting to hit the centers of all the dots. Dots that were not exactly evenly lined up in the print to start with... so, it's an organic cross-hatch. Yes, that sounds good.

Karen's Recipe Cards

Karen sent me this orange and blue Recipe Cards quilt. This was her second go around with this pattern, she made a green version a few years back that I quilted with mostly leaves. 

This time around we went with some meandering mixed with a few circles here and there in the background.

I quilted each fabric differently, much like the last quilt. 

Horizontal stripes and swirls, which are impossible to see in these photos. 

Thanks Karen! This was fun to re-design the same quilt pattern again.

 

Norene's Blue Log Cabins

Norene made this blue and red log cabin quilt.

I quilted some all-over swirls, leaves and circles on it.

Lots of fun 30's repro prints are in these blocks.

A few flowers and feathers are in the mix as well.

Lots of fun polka dots in this one, so I quilted in some big circles and swirls.

This one featured red, black and white prints. 

Due to the busyness of the prints, I knew the quilting would not stand out at all, so I didn't get too wild and crazy here.
