John Wayne Quilt Panel

Ann brought me this wonderful John Wayne panel quilt. I had quilted this panel once before here.

Plenty of borders to have some fun in.

I outlined the old cowboy and added some detail in the sky and landscape while keeping it soft and cozy.

Thanks Ann!

Paula's Rainbow Butterfly Log Cabin Quilt

Paula made this beautiful log cabin quilt called Bubbles!

I used a jewel toned variegated thread and quilted feathers in the solid areas, and filled the butterfly areas with swirls.

I altered the direction of the feather in each row.

A peek of the back.

Thanks Paula for letting me work on this striking quilt!

Plenty of borders and sashings to quilt up in a variegated thread.

I outlined the deer and things in a white thread.

A look at the back.

Thanks so much Yvonne!

Prism Strip Quilt

Lois made this beautiful Prism Strip Quilt from a kit.

This quilt was the perfect candidate for a bright multi-colored variegated thread.

Love these beautiful tonal prints!

Even the backing fabric was really neat!

Thanks Lois!

Around the Town Quilt

Lois made this beautiful patriotic version of Around the Town, a Villa Rosa pattern.

I use a red white and blue variegated thread for an all-over quilting design.

Thanks Lois!

What are the top 5 variegated threads I use?

I'm so glad you asked, I'd love to tell you!

1. Red White and Blue- several of my clients love making QOV or patriotic quilts to give to friends or family who have served our country.
2. Christmas/ Red, green, white- who doesn't love a nice festive holiday quilt to snuggle under to watch a Christmas movie?
3. Pastels/ pink, yellow, blue, green- It blends into more multi colored quilts than you'd think!
4. Brown/tan/cream- nice for a fall themed quilt, or brown quilts seem to go with lots of home decor color schemes.
5. Tie between Jewel tones, and saturated primary colors- It takes a certain special colorful quilt to be able to use the colors in these threads.

Any threads other than those are probably ordered for a special certain quilt, or I bought it thinking it would come in handy, but have only really used it once or twice ever. (ex. Turquoise/white)

Liberty Lane and Sprinkles

Yvonne brought me this fun quilt she made with her granddaughter. The pattern is Sprinkles by Piece Works Quilt Shop.

They requested using a bright pink thread for the quilting. A bold choice that I was totally in favor of!

I tried to keep the quilting lively with lot of different motifs.

Thanks Yvonne for this fun project!

Alice brought me this patriotic Liberty Bell panel from Liberty Lane.

Thanks Alice!
