MaryJo's Framed Florals

MaryJo made this beautiful quilt with a large scale bold floral print.

The brown/grayish background fabric is really a 2-toned chambray woven in olive green and orange. So it has a very interesting color that changes slightly depending on the angle.

I thought for sure I would use either an orange/gold or green thread on it, but I actually ended up going with a brown thread that blended the best.

Thanks MaryJo!

Harley Davidson T-Shirt Quilt

Pat made this special Harley Davidson T-shirt quilt. I say special because this quilt is 2-sided! This here is the front side.

This shirt is my favorite. It's just so Iowa. :)

And this is the back! Just as nice as the front.

The quilting looks kinda funky from outlining the shirts on the front, but that's just how you gotta do it.

Thanks Pat!

Canyon

Sharon brought me this gorgeous quilt that was a block of the month kit by Wing and a Prayer called Canyon. This was a "before" shot that I used to search for custom quilting ideas.

I didn't get a lot of inspiration that way, so I just had to make it up as I went along.

Most of the quilting is hand-guided with a little bit of ruler work here and there in the blocks.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Sharon entered it in our county fair where it placed first in it's category. She also entered it into the Iowa State Fair where it did not ribbon.
Thanks Sharon for trusting me with this very large and beautiful quilt! I'm glad you are entering your/our work into the competition ring!
