Karen's Stacked Jelly Roll

Karen made this neat stacked jelly roll quilt.

Love the gradient effect she put to it!

I quilted all-over swirls and paisleys in a light tan thread.

Thanks Karen!

Norene's Pinwheels

Norene made this adorable pinwheel quilt-a row for each color.

I have an in-process shot here. I decided to custom quilt it-each colored row a different design.

Starting with the green row, I quilted two different designs in each block, then carried one of those designs into the next row, this time putting it into the opposite color space.

This was a pretty fun one to quilt because it was a simple block set in linear rows. The white fabric allows the custom quilting to really shine.

Thanks Norene!

Lois's Batik quilt

Lois brought me this neat quilt that uses some really neat batik fabrics.

I get a bit of a funky-tribal-earthy-vibe with this quilt, so I did some funky waves in the border.

The center is filled with lots of loops and leaves and echoes.

I used a gray thread color.

Thanks Lois! I loved how this one turned out.

Katie's herringbone braid

Katie (my sister) made this really cool braid quilt.

I wanted to quilt something that aided in the horizontal movement this quilt has, so it was just simple echoed curves in each section.

So many seams to match up with this one!

Oh yes. The back. Katie is the crazy town backing queen. Well, with her it's either a flat sheet straight out of the package, or something as intricate as this! ha! Not much in-between.

I like it though. Use it up! All the leftovers are fair game.

Thanks Katie!

Mineral Matrix

Sharon made this amazing quilt called 'Mineral Matrix'. It was a BOM kit made with really pretty batik fabrics. It's a big one measuring about 103 inches square.

She wanted it custom quilted. Brace yourself for lots of pictures of this one.

I went with a light brown thread throughout the quilt.

I went with a perpendicular feather in the wide outer border, a wavy design in the blue, and ribbon candy in the smaller green border.

And now for the blocks! There are 12 different 12 inch blocks in this quilt along with plenty of sashing blocks.

Thanks Sharon for the fun challenge of this awesome quilt!
