DGS block and Baby Boy Quilt

These were my blocks for do.Good Stitches back in October. A fun and super scrappy design with lots of HST's. I used a lot of scraps leftover from my mask making days. 

I made and donated about 300 masks last spring. I used up a bunch of my 'ugly' fabric as well as some that was donated to me for the cause. 

Patty made this sweet little quilt for a new grandson's arrival.

I quilted an all-over paisley leaf design.

All sorts of cute critters in this one!

She used a dimpled gray minky for the back.

Barb's Hearts

Barb brought me this sweet little heart quilt.

I quilted a ribbon curl in each heart and filled in the background with lots more curls, hearts, and leaves.

As well as a feather in the border.

The backing was a soft pink minky.

Teresa's Summer Garden Flower

Teresa made this sweet little baby quilt and wanted it custom quilted. The pattern is called Summer Garden Flower. 

I tried to come up with a design that would involve the least amount of starts and stops for this block. 

I ended up starting with custom loops in the white background and quilted either a loop or meander to the next white triangle until I circled all the way around, then I filled in the rest of the flower, making sure to end up on a corner of the star in the center. From there, the design circles around the corners, and loops to the corners of the green center square.

LuAnn's The Perfect Setting

LuAnn made this beautiful version of The Perfect Setting.

For the background I quilted a paisley with an extra jiggy-jag over the top.

The diamonds each received special treatment and were custom quilted in matching thread colors.

Karen's Heirloom Hanky Butterfly Quilt

Karen made this special quilt with her family's heirloom handkerchiefs. 

I filled in the white background with some fancy things, and ribbon candy in the blue borders.

I also outlined each butterfly and antennae.

Katie's Geese

Katie made this flying geese pattern in blues and browns.

I wanted to keep the look of directional movement with the quilting and ended up seeing this quilting design on Instagram and thought it would be perfect here.

It's not a Katie-quilt if the back is not pieced together in epic style.
