A friend of mine commissioned me to make her a memory quilt from her father's shirts. The shirts were mostly flannels, but also a bit of denim and other cotton blends. I kept the layout very simple using 12.5 and 6.5 inch squares. I even used a couple of pockets!
I quilted in family names to make it extra special.
I used a serger for the piecing.
"grandpa"
I used a navy plaid flannel that I prewashed for the back and the binding. I am happy to report that Tammi and her family absolutely love the quilt and it gets used and loved on the daily!
