The Petersen quilters were at it again last spring. We were itching to get together for a sewing weekend after a long time apart. We decided on this Confetti Star quilt pattern from a youtube video by Missouri Star. It uses 10 inch squares and is a lot easier to make than you'd think!
We liked the ombre effect layout. There are a ton of different ways you can arrange these blocks as you can see at the end of the video.
Here we were auditioning backing fabric options. We ended up going with the lighter brown.
Are there any same fabrics touching?? Colors spread out evenly? The arranging game can get complicated sometimes.
Good enough, let's put it all together!
Ta da! That's me in the middle, my mom and sister. Greasy hair- don't care! That's the consensus on a sewing weekend with the girls! This one went together so quick, we even had a little extra time to work on another project or so.
And here it is all quilted up.
I quilted it with all over half feathers, curls, leaves, and other things.
I used a light brown thread.
We used one background fabric and a variety of scraps and yardage for the stars.
This one went to Aunt Karen. I wouldn't mind doing this pattern again and trying out a different layout. It's a keeper!
