It's A Snap and Luna

Lois made this patriotic version of It's A Snap.

My idea was to make allover designs of swirly fireworks and fill in the awkward spaces with stars and circles.

Thanks Lois!

This is what is on my design wall these days. The pattern is called Luna and uses 2.5 inch strips. It goes together so fast! I used up a lot of creams, fall colors, and prints from my stash. This will eventually be auctioned off this fall for our school fundraiser.

Grandmother's Flower Garden

Cindy has found a new hobby- buying vintage quilt tops online and finishing them up. This is one of those projects!

It was hand pieced, but serged all around the edges. I was very grateful for that! There was a lot of bias that needed pulling, tugging, and smoothing out. Once I got the side edges lined up square and pinned into place, I ran a line of stitching to baste it down. Then I could proceed with the freemotion custom quilting.

And it was smooth sailing from there.

I just love how this one turned out. It's one of those quilts I hated to see go back out the door.
Thanks Cindy!

She used lots of masculine and fall-themed prints.

Flannel for the back.

A super cozy quilt for sure! Thanks Denise.

Cool Waters

Denise made this flannel beauty called Cool Waters.

The minky on the back has the best quilting definition.

Thanks Denise. This will be one warm and cuddly quilt for sure!

Brown Lonestar

Meg purchased this hand pieced Lonestar piece a while ago and had me quilt it up as is.

I did my best to lay the points out flat and straight, pinned them in place, and basted the edges down with my machine.

I kept the quilting simple with an all-over paisley design to help ease in any fullness.

The star measured about 40 inches square from tip to tip.

Thanks Meg!

Midnight Pathway

MaryJo made this neat quilt called Midnight Pathway using pretty blue batik fabrics.

I added some curves to the lighted pathway.

Overall quilting in a variegated blue thread

Thanks MaryJo for a fun one!
