Embroidered Minions

Peggy made this adorable Minions quilt with her embroidery machine.

I filled in the blocks with double bubbles and an edgy feather.

I outlined the minions and added some flames around each one.

Turned out pretty adorable. Thanks Peggy!

Jessica's- More baby quilts

Christine made this really adorable log cabin quilt. Love the color layout!

I did an all-over swirl-flower-paisley design.

You can see much better on her purple back.

Jessica made this pinwheel baby quilt in Lilly Pulitzer fabrics.

I did an all-over design inside and made a nice double scalloped border.

It's nice when your borders are already marked!

Here is another baby quilt with some adorable animal charm squares.

I kept is simple and gender-neutral with some feathered swirls.

Thanks Jessica and Christine! Loved quilting these super adorable baby quilts!

Twirling Hexagons

This quilt is one my family made for a cousin. So, I had a hand in piecing this one together. The hexagon blocks are made by strip piecing and cutting out triangles, then sewing them together in half hexagons. Like this.

I gave the pinwheels some spin and did swirls in the center. For the border, I did a feather on each side of the little pieced strip. And in that I made a simple loop in each piece.

Swirls here to make them spin!

I used a pink thread to match the border and it blended in with the flowery prints too.

The feathers filled in the angled spaces on the sides really well.

This was a fun one to make, and to quilt!

Relay for Life baby quilts

The local Relay for Life steak supper and auction is quite the event around here. I had several of these colored scrappy improve pieced blocks laying around and thought I could sew them up into a couple of baby quilts real quick to put on the auction.

And I wanted to try out my new circle templates, so I got a bit fancy.

I switched to a pink thread and did a heart pattern in the pink areas.

And the blue one is pretty much the same.

I did blue swirls in this one.

My 'blocks' are 10 inches unfinished, 9.5 in finished. So these quilts are about 28 inches square.

I bound them with some leftover coordinating binding pieces I had laying around.

Lori's Barns

Lori put this neat Barn quilt panel together and had me quilt it.

In the borders I did loops and a feather.

She requested that I outline the barns, so it is hard to see the quilting in here.

The back. The best part is that she donated her quilt to a Relay for Life Auction.  Thanks Lori!

I quilted an all-over design with giant swirls and petals.

Can you find any animals?

The back. Thanks Jessica!
