Norene's Blue Log Cabins

Norene made this blue and red log cabin quilt.

I quilted some all-over swirls, leaves and circles on it.

Lots of fun 30's repro prints are in these blocks.

A few flowers and feathers are in the mix as well.

Thanks Norene!

2 more from Lois

Lois still has a couple more fun quilts to share!

Lots of fun polka dots in this one, so I quilted in some big circles and swirls.

This one featured red, black and white prints.

Due to the busyness of the prints, I knew the quilting would not stand out at all, so I didn't get too wild and crazy here.

A look at the back. Thanks Lois!

DGS block, Karen's Christmas Tree

Merry Christmas everyone!
I thought I would share this fun wall hanging I did last summer made by Karen.

I quilted the background with lots of swirls and curls.

I added some pine needle texture to the trees and some wood grain detail in the stump.

Thanks so much Karen! I hope you are enjoying it this Christmas!

These blocks were for September's do.Good Stitches Nurture circle. I had my mates make a couple of these Jagged Little Pill block in whites and golds, black and brown prints. I was going for a sunflower and daisies look to it. The quilt top is already sewn together and awaiting the longarm. Next month for sure!

DGS and All Iowa Shop Hop Quilt

This was our do.Good stitches block back in August. A really cool layout of a very simple block where the rainbow of colors gradually change and get more dense along the quilt. We each picked out 2 blocks out of the labeled grid. Unfortunately I deleted the email and cannot remember the name of the pattern or anything. So, this is all I've got to share on this one.

One more quilt from Lois to share! This one is made with the All Iowa Shop Hop fabric line. I believe the quilt pattern is part of the shop hop as well.

I quilted an all-over design that included lots of leaves, feathered swirls, circles, and I even tried to make a wild rose- the state flower of Iowa.

A peek of the back.

Yeah, you can actually see some quilting in this section, including the wild rose.
Thanks Lois!

Lois's Crazy Blocks

I have another quilt here from Lois. This one is a stack and slice and rearrange crazy quilt block in some faded reds, blues, and browns.

I quilted all over half feathers, circles and leaves and swirls.

And a few flowers in the mix too.

A peek at the backing.

Thanks again Lois!

A sampler from Lois

Lois made this neat ombre block sampler.

I chose a light gray thread and quilted an all-over design of clamshell leaves.

Thanks Lois!

Jan's Doggy Baby Quilt, Lois's squares

Jan made this sweet little baby quilt for her new grandson.

All over paisleys worked well for it.

Thanks Jan!

Lois made this checkerboard quilt.

The fact that this quilt is all little squares made it a perfect opportunity to do a custom design in each block. No marking needed!

Here's a close-up shot of a single block.

It's pretty neat to see how one quilting design repeated over and over can create secondary designs- making it look more complicated and intricate than it really is!

This is all done free-handed, just hitting all the right points and putting the loops in the right spots.

It's not perfect by any means, but pretty close enough. Ha!

A peek at the back.

Thanks Lois!
