Amazing Grace

Lori made this adorable quilt using a panel with the words to 'Amazing Grace'. Her little granddaughter sings this song in church with her Grandpa and it is pretty much the sweetest thing you'll ever hear. So this quilt was made and given to her granddaughter for her birthday.

I quilted musical notes and treble clefs along with some swirls all over.

Music notes and treble clefs were a first for me, but not too hard after drawing it out a few times.

Thanks Lori!

Sweetwater Market Quilt and DGS June blocks

Alyce made this amazing quilt from a BOM kit by Sweetwater

The block centers are printed.  Alyce requested to outline the labels, swirls everywhere else and straight lines in the border.

The kit has you add some embroidery embellishments to the labels.

What a neat quilt- I really enjoyed this one Alyce! I even considered using one of the recipes printed in there, but I guess I will have to see if I can read it in one of these pictures as I didn't follow through on keeping a copy of it.

These were my Do Good Stitches blocks for June.  We made an alphabet quilt.  I wanted a mix of easy and more challenging letters, but even the Y wasn't very hard to make.

Thanks for stopping by!

Baby HST Quilt

Katie made this adorable baby quilt with HST's. I just love how the quilting turned out.

I custom quilted the diagonal areas with loops- figure 8 style and triangle style.

I also love the one random pinwheel.

Thanks Katie- I had fun with this one!

Jessica's Charley Harper quilt

Jessica made this neat quilt with Charley Harper fabrics. She really let those amazing prints shine with this brick pattern.

An all-over feather seemed to fit the bill for this quilt.

Bitty blocks baby quilt and Splendid Sampler blocks

Katie made this adorable baby quilt called 'Bitty Blocks'.

It's a pretty gender neutral color pallet so I kept the quilting the same with big swirls and bubbles.

the back.  Thanks Katie!

It's been a while since I last posted some of my Splendid Sampler blocks. We have just reached the half-way mark with block #50! I'm just a few blocks behind (4 to be exact) I've dusted off the old DMC floss and am loving the embroidery side of this project. I do the hand work in the evenings and when I'm done with a block I find myself at a loss with nothing to work on. What do I do?!? Just sit here and watch tv?  lol

Such teeny-tiny hexies! Each side is 1/2 inch. I felt like I was sewing together Skittles! I love-love-love how it turned out, but don't foresee any more tiny hexies in my future.

The tiny red bit of fabric bled into my white background when I rinsed out my marking pen! Ack! And I have used that fabric in 9 other blocks. (the tomato pincushion above too.) I'm going to have to figure out how to save them.  But I washed and rinsed out the rest of that fabric so I think the problem is solved from here on out.

A neighboring town is full of black squirrels- a pretty rare thing, so I made my squirrel black. And purple. :)  Also because I don't have any brown 30's repro. Does it even exist? I haven't seen any.

Those are just a few of my latest blocks. You can find all the Splendid Sampler blocks and FREE patterns here. The patterns will be free and available until sometime next year when they will be made into a book.

Patty's rainbow wave quilt

Patty made this amazing rainbow wave quilt for her niece.

I used a multi-colored variegated thread in the top and did a rippled wave design.

I think it turned out pretty cool!

it's hard to tell, but I used a pink thread on the white back.

Thanks Patty for the super fun quilt!
