9th Grade Primer

Becki made this lovely quilt. It is from the book Precut Primer, and this is the 9th Grade pattern.

I quilted and all-over paisley swirl on it.

Love these fun bright fabrics.

Thanks Becki! This was a fun one for sure.

Give Thanks Panel

Linda stitched up this beautiful Give Thanks panel.

How in the world am I going to quilt this?  Well, I started with the obvious and outlined the border areas and some background fill with black thread.

I outlined the Give Thanks and the pumpkins too.

The back.

I switched to an orange thread and did some swirls in the fall wreath and borders.

Turned out nice! It's custom, but not quilted to death. Somewhere in between.
Thanks Linda!

Fall Leaves Quilt

Linda made this neat quilt in fall fabrics.

I had the perfect variegated thread for it--brown, gold, and orange.

I quilted lots of swirls and different types of leaves.

Thanks Linda!

Lindsay's Purple T-shirt Quilt

Lindsay made herself a T-shirt quilt. She did an excellent job for being a beginner! I quilted and bound it for by machine too.

I quilted an all-over design on it-mostly a paisley feathered swirl, adding different designs here and there as I went along.

She wanted an all-over, but I still cant help trying to avoid some of the screen printing if I can. Or at least quilting through it as little as necessary.  Mainly because the needle punches a hole into that plastic-y print, and over time and wear and tear and washing and drying, that hole will start to crack and get bigger and eventually the printing will start to flake off.

I suppose that's why some quilters don't like quilting t-shirt quilts, but they are still about my favorite kind of quilts to quilt.  I think it's because of the great definition you get from the knit fabric.  Or maybe because quilting around the designs is kind of fun, like a puzzle or a maze to figure out. Or maybe it's because it's like a fabric scrapbook of a person's life interests.

Purple minky on the back turned out great!

This will be the quilt to cuddle with on a cold night for sure! Thanks Lindsay!

Jessica's Charm Pack Baby Quilts

Jessica stitched up these adorable baby quilts.

This one had a dinosaur theme, so I added some dino foot prints in with some swirls and pebbles.

This girly one was so cute with the safari animals in their party hats.

Lots of feathered swirls and flowers for this one.

Thanks Jessica! Keep the cute baby quilts coming!

Tumbler Baby Quilt

Jessica made this adorable tumbler baby quilt.

This one has a bug/nature theme to it, so I quilted nothing but leaves all over.

Thanks Jessica!

Two Hawkeye quilts

Barb made a couple of Iowa Hawkeye quilts for a couple of her high school graduating grand kids. Love this simple looking pattern.

A simple meander was requested and I added some stars and bubbles in too.  I was able to unwrap my first yellow spool of quilting thread to use on this one.

The second quilt was this Around the World design.

Same quilting design, different quilt, and thread color.

Thanks Barb!
