Another Red/Black T-Shirt Quilt

Joyce made this commissioned t-shirt quilt.

Red thread was requested like the last one I did for Joyce.

A look at the back and all the random designs I throw in. I guess my brain has a hard time just sticking to one or two quilting motifs in a quilt. I feel like t-shirt quilts are a good place to go random. Maybe because it's usually for a young teenager, or the different shirt designs and various interests and activities represented that feel like the green light is on to throw in different quilting designs. Maybe the large areas of negative space and the AMAZING quilting definition have something to do with it as well.

Anyways, quilting t-shirt quilts are just about my favorite types to quilt. I don't get why some quilters will flat out not do them. Rarely do I have issues with puckering and such.

Thanks a lot Joyce!

Cody's T-Shirt Quilt

Linda made this T-shirt quilt for her grandson who is currently a senior in high school.

I believe this quilt project will be a surprise to Cody as several of the shirts were from his Mom's wardrobe. She had ordered herself a shirt from his activities whenever he did. That's a great way to do it! Because we can probably be sure that hers are in much better shape. ha!

Thanks Linda!

Vintage Dresden Quilt

Carol brought me this beautiful vintage dresden quilt.

Each dresden was blanket stitched by hand. I quilted each plate alternating in one of two ways: petals and pebbles in the center...

...or loops with a swirl center.

The background was filled in with, uh, stuff!

Another vintage quilt that I hated to see leave!
Thanks Carol!

Pat made this sweet little log cabin baby quilt.

A peek at the pink minky backing.

Thanks Pat!

Cindy had me quilt up this little Quilt Barn Panel.

Kept it super simple with some swirls. Thanks Cindy!

Vintage Bridal Bouquet, Nosegay Quilt

Cindy brought me another vintage quilt top she purchased online.

This one is a Bridal Bouquet or otherwise called Nosegay.

A fun geometric design in the setting squares.

The block design was fun to do all in one continuous path.

I did have lots of issues of extra fullness. A lot of the blocks were not square at all. One side would measure 9 inches, and the others 10!

So, choosing a forgiving design was important.

'Done is better than perfect' as they say. And this one can FINALLY move onto the Done pile and be used and enjoyed after how many decades. And that is a good feeling.

I still really love these blocks though. Thanks Cindy!
