Scrappy baby quilt with Angel

Marty made this scrappy baby quilt.

She requested an angel quilted into it.

After some research I decided on this angel design.

The back is easier to see.

Thanks Marty!

Sailboats

Joan made this adorable sailboat baby quilt.

I got to custom quilt the center boat part with waves, and swirling sea winds.

The borders got some more swirls too.

There is even a fish in the sea!
Thanks Joan!

Carol's teddy bear baby quilt

Carol started this adorable baby quilt a long long time ago and just finished it recently.

This quilt has everything! Intricate piecing, applique, embroidery, even mitered corners. I custom quilted each border with leaf and wood grain designs.

I meandered in the brown bear fur parts, circles in the light colored tummy, and added a few details in the ears and face.

Thanks Carol! Nice to get one of those projects finally finished!

Katie's super huge dresden

Katie made this super huge dresden quilt with a crazy improv pieced red heart in the center.

Love how this one looks!

From the orange pieces I quilted feathers and ribbon candy in the strip pieced wedges.

I had some orange thread that worked perfectly.

I switched to a light brown in the pieced wedges.  In her red print background I just kept it super simple with some swirls since any quilting would be pretty invisible anyway with that busy print.

The big heart was hand embroidered across the piecing, in true crazy quilt fashion.  So I used those sections to quilt a different pattern in each.  Just to make more interest on top of interest on top of interest. :)

And if you thought the top was minimalist, this is her back! Just the opposite! She used lots of leftover blocks and pieced bits from other past projects into this amazing backing.

Fun to look at..

Thanks Katie!

Marty's flying geese baby quilt

Marty made this baby quilt with some bright turquoise and some fun purple prints.

I did an all-over with swirls and flowers and leaf shapes.

The back. Batting used was a woven cotton blanket, so it has a nice drapey-ness to it.
Thanks Marty!

Becki's charm quare quilt #2

Becki made this fun not-exactly Iowa Hawkeye (but really kinda is) quilt with some charm squares.  This is the second quilt she has made with this pattern. The first is here.

I quilted an all-over paisley feathered swirl design.

It turned out pretty nice!

Thanks Becki!

Jelly roll and Cross quilt

Marilyn made this road trip themed jelly roll quilt.

She requested a large meander to go along with the road map theme, and I threw in some stars and circles to make things more interesting.

Linda made this amazing cross wallhanging and wanted it custom quilted. We found some inspiration on the internet and went from there. I marked the straight lines and quilted those in white thread first.

Then I did the blue cross in section in a matching blue thread.

Thanks Linda and Marilyn!

Lost City

Teresa made this fun quilt called 'Lost City' and wanted me to do some fancy custom quilting on it.

I started first with some super sized swirls with paisley feathers in a purple thread.

Ribbon candy in the center strip. I changed to pink thread for the bright prints and did a simple paisley swirl there.

The last thread change was to light gray for the pebbles in the background fill.  It was at this point I remembered Teresa's request to quilt the recipient's name- Adrianna- into it. So I squeezed it in there :)

This was a really fun quilt to do! And I just love how it turned out.

Thanks Teresa!!
