Norene's 9-Patches

Norene made this fun and scrappy 9-patch quilt.

I custom quilted it using rulers and some hand guided free-motion.

I extended the ruler design into the outer border since it is the all the same fabric.

Norene has made a few of these 9-patch quilts and I've had fun quilting them all a bit differently.

Here's another one by Carol.

Thanks Norene!

Diane's Brown Squares

Diane made this queen sized brown block sampler.

I used a variegated brown thread and quilted all over designs of paisleys, half-feathers, leaves, and swirls.

I used a dark brown bobbin on the white backing.

Thanks Diane!

Tate's Baby Quilt

Landon (a Jr. 4-H'er) made this baby quilt for his littlest brother as a 4-H project. He used an embroidered block his great grandma had made for the center.

His grandma helped him sew it together and marked all the letters of the alphabet using stencils and a water soluble marker. The last yellow square in the bottom right corner was left blank intentionally, but I can't remember why. A label perhaps?

I was to quilt around each letter and outline the fisherman.

I quilted around the raw edge appliqued letters a couple times around.

Great job Landon! I love how four generations were involved in some way on this special project!

Mary's Baby Giraffe

Mary made this adorable baby quilt for a new grandson. She requested the name and birthdate added in somewhere.

I quilted different designs in each section.

The giraffe got a little bit of meandering in his fuzzy fur.

I drew out the name with a soluble marker and quilted over it a couple times.

A peek of the back. Thanks Mary!

Carol's Super Scrappy Stars

Carol made this super scrappy star quilt. I wish I knew the real name of this pattern, but super scrappy star quilt is what I'm going with!

Ribbon candy for the little single red border.

All-over half feathers and leaves and curls for the center.

Oooh la-la!

Thanks Carol!

Meg's Red, Black, Gray

Meg made this neat red-black-and gray quilt to quilt up.

Once in a while I will post what I'm working on (like I did with this photo) on my Instagram account--jenny.schechinger  Check it out!

I quilted this one with lots of clam shell curves in opposition to all the boxy-ness of the quilt pattern and fabric print.

Thanks Meg!
