Joyce brought me this lovely quilt, much like this burgundy one I did recently, same backstory and overall design, just in a different colorway. Here I go with another GIANT border!
For the embroidered blocks, I kept it pretty simple by outlining the fan, and quilting inside the fan just enough to keep things together. The block was then completed with some curls and such in the background.
I incorporated the dogwood flowers from the fans into the border.
