Cindy made this John Deere tractor quilt for someone named Steve. :) Being an Iowa farmgirl myself, (with green tractors) I had no trouble at all designing for such a quilt.
I put double bubbles in the black border, and large swirls in the first green tractor row. The next border got tractor treads. My favorite go-to border design for anything tractor related.
The next brown border was filled with a row of round bales.
The rest was filled with lots of echoing swirls.
The tractor treads were made by marking a chalk line down the center and some ruler work.
I love how the patchwork on it looks a lot like acres of farm fields.
Thanks Cindy! I hope Steve loves his quilt.
