Cindy had me quilt up this American flag panel. The panel is from Timeless Treasures and measures about 24 by 42 inches.
I outlined the stripes with some ruler work and then filled the whole thing with a wood-grain pattern to go along with the weathered barn board look.
Cindy's plans are to frame it in a barn board frame and hang it in her local gas station/eatery for display. So the red borders she added were just for ease of quilting, and not a part of the finished, framed piece. So nice of you to think of me Cindy!
I used a light brown thread all over.
The back used is just a piece of muslin.
Wavy wood grain...
